Jean Todt, ex-Ferarri boss, has revealed that seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher still watches F1 races.
The Schumacher family keep everything very private, giving rare updates on the F1 icon’s health after his almost-fatal skiing accident in 2013.
Todt has said to NTV, a German broadcaster:
“I don’t miss Michael. I can see him. But of course, what I miss is what we used to do together”
After being asked if Schumacher watches any of the F1, Todt continued:
“Yes, it’s true – I watch the races with Michael.”
This doesn’t come as a huge surprise now that Schumacher’s son, Mick, has joined the Haas team. Mick has been going from strength to strength in the sport and took his first points for the season at Silverstone a few weeks ago. He finished up coming eighth in Silverstone and then bagged sixth place a week later in Austria.
Todt went on to comment on how Mick has been doing, saying:
“I was so happy when he finished in the points in the last two races. There has been a lot of pressure on him. What i really wish for him is the chance to drive the best car. Then he will be able to win races and titles.”
