BREAKING NEWS: Richard Hammond Is Even Smaller Since Crash
Poor Richard Hammond; the guy just can’t catch a break, can he? Not only is now recovering after his second major accident while filming the second season of The Grand Tour, but he also lost the one thing he absolutely could not afford to lose.
His height.
During an interview with Holly Willoughy and Philip Schofield (we have the full interview with reactions from Richard’s wife in our Tribe!) Richard revealed that he learned some terrible news from his doctors:
“They told me I’ve lost 7mm of height. I can’t be losing that.”
When asked by Willoughy if he was now uneven, Hammond responded:
“Yes. No, no, I can’t be running in circles for the rest of my life.”
When asked about Jeremy and James’ reaction to the crash, Hammond responded with:
“They wept. Apparently neither of them have slept and I get a lot of calls and texts from both of them.”
I can’t tell if Richard was being funny or not with that response, but it does seem rather un-Jeremy and James-like, even if the three of them are close friends.
For those who have been living under a rock and somehow stumbled upon this article for the first time, Richard was involved in a crash while filming a segment for the upcoming season of The Grand Tour.
While driving a Rimac Concept One last month in a hillclimb event in Switzerland, Hammond suffered a crash which resulted in some pretty serious injuries, one of which included smashing his knee.
And now he’s shorter. At this rate, if he crashes again (we hope not!) he’ll wake up in the hospital bed the height of a Hobbit.
