James May Shares Where He’s Staying In Colorado

James is easily the most active of the three Grand Tour hosts on DriveTribe. His latest post however, may have given away a little bit too much information.

He lets loose that he is indeed in Colorado, as we know from previous social media posts from Jeremy. James goes into a bit more detail with his latest post on DriveTribe, though, by naming the hotel he’s staying at.

Now, I’m sure they’re not staying there anymore, or he would have probably had his knuckles rapped, but keep this in mind for next time they venture to the rocky mountain state.

Apparently they, or at least he, has been staying in the Gateway Canyons Resort, where they have something a little bit special on offer.

Right there, at the hotel, is a motoring museum. Filled with “pristine examples of American automotive art”. If this isn’t the perfect hotel for a petrol head, I don’t know what is.

James says in his article:

“This is one of the nicest small museums I’ve been to. It starts with the dawn of the popular car and (unless I missed a bit) ends in the muscle-car era. It’s all proper US metal – none of your pony-assed European rubbish.

“After a gigantic American breakfast served on a plate twice the area of my face, I could have gone for a jog in the mountains. Instead, I spent an hour or so wandering around this lot. Far more agreeable.”

Seems like he’s enjoying his stay, I’m getting quite jealous sat here looking out the window to an overcast England.

DriveTribe has been a great way to get to know Clarkson, Hammond and May more personally. Where before they were behind the screen with scripts, writers and lawyers to filter each of their thoughts, we now have the chance to read something straight from the horse’s mouth, as soon as they want to post it.

So if you haven’t already, make sure you follow them on DriveTribe to keep up with their latest shenanigans. But if you’ll excuse me, I’m booking a holiday.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
