With our TV remotes at the ready and Amazon Prime subscriptions… primed… the good guys at Motoringbox.com have treated us to a sneak peak of what’s to come for episode 1 of the third season of The Grand Tour. And we can promise you, it’s going to be a good’n!
A Detroit Disaster
It’s called ‘Motown Funk’, with the main idea of the show to bring back to life the home of American muscle: Detroit. The Grand Tour trio have realised that Detroit is no longer the Motor City it used to be. With kale factories popping up throughout, they can see that there’s more of a love for greens than V8s, and this needs to be changed.
To remedy the situation, Clarkson, Hammond and May grab themselves three of the best muscle cars they can find: A Ford Mustang RTR Spec 3, a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and a Hennessey Exorcist Camaro. Three weapons that will surely spark the love of the sound of petrol explosions once again. If you want to learn more about these cars, then click here.
They start with what we all expect: a drag race. They then turn to an old theatre to perform a noise test, and finally an abandoned factory where they establish a race track. Finally, the presenters take to an airstrip in a battle of good and evil. Who will win, well you’re going to have to watch the episode aren’t you!
Clarkson Reviews the McLaren Senna
The first episode of a new season has to be a high hitting one, and it turns out that The Grand Tour never disappoints. Clarkson puts the McLaren Senna through its paces not on the Eboladrome, but at Donington Park. The Eboladrome is far too dangerous for such a fast car. The track focussed Senna will surely perform highly, with even McLaren admitting that it has an “unforgiving design in pursuit of absolute performance”.
On a slightly different note, look how Clarkson towers over the esteemed track car. He really is quite tall, isn’t he?
