Elon Musk Launches “Teslaquila”
Elon Musk’s dark-humored April Fools prank seems to have borne fruit, in the shape of “Teslaquila” (a portmanteau of Tesla and tequila, for the non-linguists among you). The prank basically consisted of a series of tweets claiming that Tesla had gone “so bankrupt, you can’t believe it.”
It also showed Musk seated against a Tesla, behind the box from a Tesla wall charger with the word “Bankwupt” scrawled on it in Sharpie.
Tesla Goes Bankrupt
Palo Alto, California, April 1, 2018 — Despite intense efforts to raise money, including a last-ditch mass sale of Easter Eggs, we are sad to report that Tesla has gone completely and totally bankrupt. So bankrupt, you can't believe it.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 1, 2018
Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by "Teslaquilla" bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.
This is not a forward-looking statement, because, obviously, what's the point?

The Teslaquila looks like this, if you were wondering. It even includes a neat extension of the custom typeface used in Tesla’s logo.

No word yet on if and when Teslaquila will go on sale, but Elon Musk is not usually a man to post something stupid involving one of his brands and then not go on to sell it, especially since Tesla is in such dire need of cash to produce Model 3s at a decent clip. Watch out for it at your nearest Palo Alto liquor store just in case.
