Elon Musk Rips Apart Porsche Taycan Over One Tiny Detail
They’ve done it. Porsche have gone electric with its latest model, the Taycan. But of course, when a company brings an electric car to the market, comparison’s to Tesla will always happen, whether they’re warranted or not. But there’s one detail about the new Porsche that’s made quite a stir, and that’s its name.
The first model variants that have been released are classed as Turbo, and Turbo S, inline with the well known Porsche model designation. But that’s the problem, this is all-electric, and has no turbo.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Twitter’s ‘Meme Lord’ was keen to point out this mistake with a witty response to their reveal.

“Um Porsche, this word Turbo does not mean what you think it does,” he says. The tweet culminated an impressive 119,00 likes and over 10,000 retweets over 12 hours, and has gotten several angry responses.

A response from Jalopnik (see above), saying “Um Elon Musk, this word Autopilot does not mean what you think it does.” This comment was in regard to Musk’s definition of the ‘Autopilot’ setting on Teslas. In the past, Jalopnik and other media outlets have been keen to challenge the name of the advanced cruise control setting, arguing that it lulls people into a false sense of security and that the car can drive itself. It was quickly met with another reply from Musk.
However, Musk has always stated that like autopilot on a plane, it merely gives a level of assistance to the driver. He says, “Jalopnik not sharpest tool in shed … en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autopilot”

Tesla will soon be taking their Tesla Model S to the Nurburgring, more likely in an attempt to beat Porsche’s Taycan lap time (watch below). Only time will tell if the Model S has what it takes to beat the Taycan, a car with more than enough racing pedigree.
rich people pissing match… what would be cool is to radio control the electric cars and race them that way like a giant sim or vr style thing… could race as hard as they could dream of and stay safe…
