This Dodge Challenger Hellcat Has Been Reimagined As A Track-Ready Beast

The Dodge Challenger is looked at as being one of the most capable cars on the planet. Its Hellcat variant produced 707bhp, and became the only production car able to wheelie off the line. It’s safe to say, it has performance. But it’s often lacked one layer of performance which has remained its reason for online bullying for over a decade: corners.

Abimelec Design is here to show us exactly what the Challenger would look like if it was built for the corners of a race track in their new render. Its retro and dominant body has been restyled for aerodynamics and downforce, perfect for a high G corner, and since its body hasn’t undergone a real change since its release in 2008, this is nice to see.

Let’s start with the obvious. The rear wing makes the car look small, reaching far further than the standard width of the car. Its height almost matches the top of the roof and it’s kept in place by several struts that keep it from bending to the turbulence.

The front matches the rear in drama with several lips, wings and angles all painted in a black that carries on through the front third of the car. The bonnet has much more venting, too, to enable lap after lap of full throttle. The wheels are fat with flat rubber for maximum grip, and the whole body has been lowered making the car look more aggressive and wider, with the headlight deletion at the front only adding to the intimidation factor.

There’s no doubt that this car is ready for the track, and we’d love to know what materials would be used if this was actually built, but for now we’ll have to use our imagination. Let us know what you’d like to find under the paint and bonnet in the comments.

With the Challenger model possibly facing changes in the near future under FCA, especially after the merger with PSA, maybe a track version would be the perfect statement from Dodge.
