This Porsche’s Inboard Suspension Is To Die For
Every now and then we get sent a video of a car with a whopping great engine and four-figure horsepower numbers. But today we’ve been sent something slightly more interesting than a car that can do 0-60mph in something ridiculous.
As I’m sure you can tell, this is a highly modified Porsche 996 GT2, producing 800 horses at the rear wheels. Its boxer engine has been given new turbochargers from Tial, a custom exhaust system, new injectors, uprated intercoolers and plenty more little changes to help it become the monster it is. But to put tut the cherry on the most dangerous cake in the world, the makers have removed its traction control.
But we’re not focussing on the engine this time. Because tucked neatly under the rear window is an inboard suspension – yep, just like a racing car.
Made by BBI Autosport of Huntington Beach, California, this bespoke setup features a bladed anti-roll bar and Ohlins adjustable dampers. the idea behind the build was to make the view though the rear windscreen similar to the workings of the inside of a watch. Personally, I’m not so sure it looks too similar, but I’m a sucker for anything like this.
This is a great build that I couldn’t wait to share with you. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
