McLaren Racing and Mercedes-Benz Extend Partnership Until 2030: A Game-Changer for Formula 1

McLaren Racing and Mercedes-Benz F1 teams have extended their partnership until 2030, securing McLaren’s use of Mercedes power sources under the new engine regulations set to commence in 2026. This agreement marks McLaren as the first customer team confirmed for the new era of regulations.

The recent extension of the partnership between McLaren Racing and Mercedes-Benz represents a significant commitment in the world of Formula 1. This decision not only reflects a strong historical collaboration but also a shared vision for future success under the new engine regulations.

Toto Wolff, the Team Principal of Mercedes, underscored the strategic significance of this partnership, stating:

“It has been a cornerstone of our motorsport strategy to work with strong customer teams. This has many advantages: it gives a clear competitive benchmark, accelerates our technical learning, and strengthens the overall F1 business case for Mercedes-Benz.

“McLaren have been fierce and fair competitors since 2021, especially in the second half of this season.

“McLaren’s strong performances underline the importance of transparent and equal supply to all customer teams in the sport, if we wish to achieve the goal of 10 teams capable of fighting for podium finishes.”

In light of the extended partnership, Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren Racing, remarked:
