Jeremy Clarkson Jokes About Saving James May Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
Jeremy Clarkson has taken to his Instagram account to make a plea to keep his fellow host of The Grand Tour safe during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Following Boris Johnson’s advice to stay inside for the next three weeks, Clarkson pleads with his 2.7 million Instagram followers to do as the Prime Minister says and stay inside to quell the spread of the deadly virus.
“I have been asked to stay at home and even though this is my home and it’s got holes in it and it’s very cold at night and there’s only one chair,” he says. “I am doing what Mr. Johnson has asked me to do.”
Obviously, in this honest message from the ex-Top Gear presenter, he had to insert some of his well-known humour.
“Because the thing is, if we go outside, there’s a chance, a good chance, that we’ll infect someone who is old and frail, like James May.
“And do you want to have James May’s death on your conscience? No you don’t.
“So come on, please, everyone, let’s just sit it out. It could be worse, you could be me.”
He concluded with a simple, yet sad note:
“I haven’t even got the internet here.
“I can’t even watch pornography.”
The funny thing is, while Clarkson is asking us to save James May because he’s old and frail, Clarkson is in fact older than May by two years at 59 years old. With his recent bout of pneumonia, Clarkson is likely to be at more risk than May. However, May has admitted that he’s now suffering from “nervous disorders” and “aches”.
Richard Hammond has hunkered down for a long stint of staying inside, and has promised us plenty of Instagram based content to entertain us while we get bored at home. So sit tight everyone, and stay safe.
