James May: The Grand Tour Presenter Has Bought A Pub
Presenter of The Grand Tour and Our Man In Japan James May has bought “half a pub” in the village of Swallowcliffe, Salisbury, Wiltshire, which is close to where he lives. The pub, named The Royal Oak, has been closed throughout the Coronavirus lockdown which started back in March.

“I’ve just bought half a pub. #TheRoySwallowcliffe” James posted to his Twitter account.
Someone who lives close to the pub was very happy to hear of the purchase:
“The whole village is delighted. I wasn’t aware that he was in the market for buying a pub but I’m delighted.”
Look forward to seeing it re-opened! Can’t afford half a pub but can certainly enjoy a meal and a pint! #TheRoySwallowcliffe pic.twitter.com/FldNysEesW

The tweet from May which has only received positive replies is reaching upwards of 23,000 likes, but despite some questions, the other shareholder of the pub is not wanting to be named. Despite this, some fans have a theory:

We don’t know when the pub will open, but we can’t wait to check it out as soon as it’s safe to do so.
As usual, we’ll update you with news as we get it!
