2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 Reportedly Comes From Factory With Holes In Boot Lid
Those who purchased the Z51 Performance Package for the first two years of the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette got a slew of improvements to make the C8 more track-ready. The enhancements included improved tires, altered suspension tuning, bigger brakes, improved cooling parts, and other performance components such as aerodynamic enhancers.
However, if you order the Corvette C8 with the Z51 package and a High Wing, both a decklid spoiler and a wing will be added to your car. The spoiler would be attached on arrival at the dealer, while the wing would have to be fitted to the mid-engined supercar during pre-delivery inspection (PDI).
However, for the 2022 model year, this won’t be happening at least that’s what the video from Rick Corvette Conti below claims. You’ll see a 2022 Corvette in Accelerate Yellow with the decklid spoiler missing but with pre-punched holes for the High Wing around the 9-minute mark.
According to the video, a Z51-equipped Corvette with a High Wing will not have the spoiler installed, but despite this, there will be pre-punched holes on the trunk lid for the installation of the enormous wing attachment.
This means that if you’re planning on selling the wing, you’ll be left with a number of pre-drilled holes in your boot lid. But it could also be an issue if you’ve ordered the Z51, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got the spoiler included in your package.
Chevrolet hasn’t yet confirmed this, but watch the video above to hear from a pro.
