Police Pull Over Young Driver For Speeding At 191 MPH In Dad’s Mercedes
We’re taking you to Canada for todays addition of ‘Idiots In Cars Doing Idiotic Things‘ and specifically we are going heading to Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Police on Saturday plled over a 19 year old for driving 191 mph in a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe on the Queen Elizabeth Way road.
In a video shared on Twitter by Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant, Kerry Schmidt said he was speechless after being informed of the speeding car telling his Twitter followers how it was the fastest speed he’d seen in his career:
“the fastest speed that I’ve ever heard of. Unbelievable speeds, we’re taking 191 mph (308 km/h).”
According to a report by CBC, the 19 year old driver was caught in an area of the highway where the speed limit often varies between 62 mph and 68 mph – so not much excuse for the young speedster right? There was also apparently another 19 year old man in the vehicle too.

It comes as no surprised that the driver had his license suspended, received charges for street racing, stunt driving and dangerous driving as well as having his car impounded for seven days. According to Kerry Schmidt, the 19 year old racer had ‘borrowed’ the C63 AMG from his parents, adding that when he saw the image of the ray gun showing 191 mph, he thought it was a joke and that the device must have been used on a plane at the local airport.
Schmidt added:
“This is ridiculous. This is unbelievable. This is irresponsible and I certainly hope this person will not be any position to drive a vehicle for a very long time. You may think you’re in control until that moment you’re out of control, At that point there is nothing you can do and you are going to be out of control and you’re going to be done”
He also added that it probably wasn’t going to be the best Mothers Day for the young driver, or his parents:
“I’m sure he’s got a little bit of explaining to do to mom and dad this Mother’s Day morning, wondering why [the] car is no longer in the garage”
In Canada, stunt driving can carry fines of up to $10,000 and can also result in the perpetrator getting up to six months in jail and having your license taken away for up to two years. We think the young driver will have definitely learned his less (we’d hope) and we’re thankful no one was hurt.
