Ram Trucks Throws Shade At Ford As It Teases New 1500 All-electric Pickup

Ram Trucks has called out Ford as they begin the marketing buildup for its first electric pickup truck the Ram 1500, one of the largest competitors to the F-150 Lightning.

We’ve seen a few very slight teasers, but a recent YouTube clip from Stellantis-group shows us the first look at the all-new Ram electric pickup, albeit with a rather dark and gloomy layer over the top.

What is very cool, though, is the daytime running lights that encompass the RAM logo in the centre of the grill, also illuminated. It all looks very –  yes, I’m being cliche – futuristic. The bodywork is angular and aggressive, the arches are wide, and the roof features double-bubble styling.

The truck will be built on the STLA Frame architecture and houses batteries large enough for a range of up to 500 miles. The architecture also allows the truck to embrace vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-load functionality.

“Time to steal some thunder,” Ram says, throwing shade at the Ford F-150 Lightning.

The truck will likely be fully unveiled by the end of this year for a full release to the market in 2024.

He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: alex@grandtournation.com
