I wouldn’t go that mad for even a stock WRX, but this individual car is a bit weird to say the least. This one is a convertible, and it’s for sale in Manchester. Sorry Britons, this is the Manchester in America, not England. Or should I be apologising to the Americans who have to have this in the same country as them? Hm.
Arguably, the 2011 WRX wasn’t the best looking of cars. By no means was it ugly, but it didn’t quite spark the same excitement in me as the previous models did. Maybe that was more out of nostalgia than anything else, though.
Adding a fabric roof has done it no favours. It looks, plainly, bad. And what it’s done to the rigidity of the car is a complete mystery. In fact, the dealership’s ad doesn’t once mention the fact that the roof has been cut off at all. Was it aftermarket, or a Subaru experiment gone wrong?
Anyone get flash backs of this?
A quick Google search states that it could be one of four or five convertibles made by the dealership themselves, but I can’t manage to find any further information. Nor do I want to as looking at this car for too long makes my eyes sting.
Apart from the roof, nothing else on the car has been touched – whether that’s a good thing or not I’m not so sure – but this car only has 10,000 miles on it, and is being sold for $27,000.
