Video: Chevrolet C8 Corvette Exhaust Sound Revealed

The latest C8 Corvette has really struck a chord with the motoring world. Its mid-engined layout, similar to that of McLaren or Ferrari, has been a major talking point, with die hard fans questioning whether or not it detaches the car from its rich heritage.

Despite this, there’s no doubt that the C8 will triumph over a large proportion of the market, if not simply for its low price tag.

But there’s something we’re still interested in, and that’s its sound. Will the C8 sound like its American muscle predecessors? Find out by watching the video below!

This clip was filmed during Road America during the IMSA event, and while the engine’s not under load, it roars with the American tone we were hoping for. However, it should be noted that from the videos popping up over the internet, the ‘Vette has a much higher ride height than the press images would suggest.

The lack of turbochargers certainly allows this engine to breathe how an American engine should, and as it’s coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, there’s plenty of performance at hand – 0-60 in under 3 seconds according to Chevrolet.

Not bad for $60,000.

  1. Not bad, but nothing special either. I’ve got a GT350 with the Voodoo which is like the apocalypse when let loose to over 8000rpms, so I have a pretty high bar for exhaust notes.
