What Are The Most Popular Chevrolet Corvette C8 Options?
Production of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 has only just begun with the first cars looking to roll off the assembly line next month. With the car sold out for 2020, it’s obviously incredibly popular, but what are the most popular options for the new American supercar?
YouTube content producer Rick Corvette Conti looks into some of the customer orders and the options they’re choosing, and there are some obvious patterns.
In the video, Rick, a Corvette sales rep, looks over seven orders out of 200+ he’s placed. 7 seems like a low amount to look over, but there are some very obvious patterns that run through this small sample like the battery protection package and the Z51 package with MagneRide. It costs $5,000 and includes revised suspension, performance exhaust, better engine cooling, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and more power. MagnaRide adds on another $1,895.
A large number of orders included the 3LT package, the top trim level of the car, costing $72,000. This adds a host of carbon fibre bits, GT2 seats, microfiber inserts throughout the interior, and more. Another popular interior option is coloured seat belts, and the large rear wing also seemed popular. The average price of sales come between $69,200-$97,700.
The C8 wowed fans when its incredible bang for buck talent was revealed. Its 6.2-litre LT2 V8 produces 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft allowing it to hit 60mph in just 3.0 seconds, and its mid-engined layout means it outperforms most cars in its price range. To top it off, even faster variants will be released in the future such as the Z06. I’m sure we’ll see how popular those are closer to the time, too.
