Red Bull Racing Unveils Fan-Designed Livery at Austin Grand Prix, Celebrating Fan Creativity and Texas Heritage

Red Bull Racing’s unique fan engagement initiative shone at the Austin Grand Prix, where a fan-created livery, designed by Franco Cavallone, was showcased. The special livery, part of the Make Your Mark campaign, marked the team’s continued efforts to deepen fan connections.

Key Takeaways:

  • Oracle Red Bull Racing embraced fan creativity by introducing a new, fan-designed livery for the Austin Grand Prix, highlighting the success of their Make Your Mark campaign.
  • The winning design by Franco Cavallone was inspired by the iconic Lone Star Flag of Texas, symbolizing a unique blend of F1 excitement and Texan culture.
  • This initiative underscores the growing popularity of Formula 1 in the United States and Red Bull Racing’s commitment to engaging and expanding their global fanbase.

For the second time this season, Oracle Red Bull Racing has transformed their RB19 car into a dynamic piece of art, reflecting the passion and creativity of their fans. The initiative, stemming from the team’s free loyalty program, The Paddock, invited members to design a distinctive livery for the United States Grand Prix. This move not only celebrates Formula 1’s expanding footprint in the US but also strengthens the bond between the team and its supporters worldwide.

The campaign garnered immense attention, with over 2,000 submissions flooding in. Following a meticulous selection process, the most striking designs were shortlisted for a fan vote. In an overwhelming response, almost 25,000 votes were cast, culminating in Franco Cavallone’s Texas-inspired design emerging as the clear favorite.

Christian Horner, the Team Principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing, conveyed his enthusiasm about the project. He said, “It’s really exciting to see this unique, fan-led competition come to life and coincide with the growth of Formula One and our supporters in the US, and to invite our global fanbase into the Team and our garage to Make Their Mark and design the very livery we race with.”

“I think Franco has done an excellent job and the car looks incredible showcasing the Texan colours and culture. It’s not every day we release a one-off livery, so it’s even more special that it’s designed by our fans. Our hunger for winning continues for the remainder of the season, so hopefully this livery will be as winning as Martina’s in Miami, which saw Max and Checo finish on the top two steps of the podium. We’ll be sure to show Franco some strong southern hospitality if so! I’m fascinated to see what our fans come up with for the final US race in Las Vegas.”

This innovative campaign not only highlights Red Bull Racing’s commitment to fan engagement but also serves as a testament to the growing influence of Formula 1 in the United States. The successful blend of sport, art, and community engagement through this initiative sets a new standard in how racing teams can interact with and celebrate their fanbase.
