It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Grand Tour Nation as we’ve been keeping up with the Richard Hammond “Head Go Bonk” saga. With initial reports stating that Hammond had a serious injury in Mozambique while filming for the second season of The Grand Tour, we were all rightfully concerned, as this wouldn’t have be Hammond’s first head injury.
Then follow up reports revealed that it was not as serious as we first though, with Jeremy and Co. offering some much needed tender love and care to their recovering friend. Since then, Richard has made a handful of public appearances and all has appeared well.

The most recent appearance was outside The Arts Club in Mayfair on the night of March 30th with his 16 year old daughter Isabella. Both father and daughter looked happy and well as they enjoyed a night out. His father/daughter date comes just days after he assured his fan that he was indeed “fine” after falling off his bike and being knocked unconscious.
Richard posted on his DriveTribe Following the incident tha:
“I can confirm that yes, I fell off a bike, many times, in fact and yes, I banged my head along with pretty much everything else apart from my left thumb, which remains un-bruised.
Can’t tell you more yet about the how and why of it; that’s all for later in the year on the show. As for injuries; well put it this way, I don’t think I can get a book out of it.”
Richard, of course, was referring to his prior injury where he suffered major trauma to his brain when he lost control of a Vampire dragster in 2006 while attempting to set a world land speed record.
All in all, it’s good to see you out and about and glad that everything was not as bad as reported. I think it’s time to put this all behind us, that is, until the episode airs next season and we see the accident ourselves!
