Japanese Automotive College Is Building A Convertible Nissan GT-R From A 350Z
The Tokyo Auto Salon is going to be graced by some incredible work by students from Japan’s Nihon Automotive College, or NATS. They have previously shown everyone a four-door Toyota GT86, but now they’ve got something even more up our street.
They’re gearing up to release a Nissan GT-R convertible based on a Nissan 350z sports car. The front bumper, grille, and headlights have had a thorough going over to create the look of the iconic GT-R. Unfortunately, due to the 350z’s smaller size, this GT-R is going to be a little more narrow than the real thing. And if you’re wondering why they didn’t just cut the roof off a real GT-R, apparently it’s a lot cheaper and less time consuming to do it this way.
As you can tell from the render, it sports the legendary paint job as Brian’s R34 Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious, and looks very good in it if I must say so myself. We can’t wait to see it in the flesh, which of course we will update you with as soon as the real car is revealed.
