Jeremy Clarkson Comes Under Fire For “Tone Deaf” Tweet
Jeremy Clarkson doesn’t hold his punches, especially on Twitter where he has 7.7 million fans to throw his ideas at. But his most recent tweet has caused quite the stir as he’s deemed “tone deaf” after “speaking from his derriere”.
Record temperatures are currently sweeping over the UK and Europe right now, with 4 degrees Celsius expected in some parts of England and a number of countries having to evacuate its residents due to fires thanks to the extreme weather.
But on Twitter, while on holiday in the South of France, The Grand Tour presenter tweeted:

The tweet now liked almost 50,000 times by his fans, has come under huge criticism, proving that this was, in fact, not true. With 16,000 people being evacuated from just the South of France because of the threat of fires and red alert weather warnings, climate officials were keen to chime in.

A third also commented:

The replies keep rolling in, with one saying: “This is an exceptionally stupid thing to say”, while another describes his tweet as “tone deaf” and “ignorant”.
A user referenced the the heatwave in 2003:
“More used to it than they were in 2003, when the heatwave killed 15,000 people in France? I doubt it. But hopefully better forewarned & prepared, at least. That year’s Europe-wide heatwave killed 13,000 in Spain, 2,000 in UK, & 72,000 in Europe as a whole.”
The Clarkson’s Farm presenter simply responded with “Zzzzzzz”.
