Jeremy Clarkson Hated Making The Mongolia Special
If you haven’t seen the latest episode of The Grand Tour, it really is worth whacking on the TV and watching it. The Mongolia Special has been described as being the best episode of the Amazon show yet, with it spanning over an hour and a half, and receiving gleaming reviews left, right and centre.
But while the viewers loved the trio trawling across the incredible landscapes of Mongolia, Clarkson wasn’t overly fussed himself.
I really hope you enjoy the Grand Tour Mongolia Special as much as I hated making it.

As we’re sure you know, the whole episode was entirely unscripted. Clarkson, Hammond and May only had a slight idea of what was going on, but the majority of the episode was thought up by Executive producer Andy Wilman and his trusted writers, which includes Richard Porter, previously of TopGear.
@thegrandtour @GrandTourNation @JeremyClarkson @RichardHammond @MrJamesMay I just want to thank you all for the Mongolia special, by far the best episode you've ever made. Please just keep doing what you do.

Plus the fact that they had to survive singly on rations and water – yes, they actually did – it’s no surprise that they had a rough time. Take away their beloved gin and wine, and it must have been downright hell for the three presenters.
Unfortunately for them, this is just the kind of episodes we love to watch. But with rumours of Season 4 already are sounding good, with the season consisting entirely of cross-country tours like what you saw during the Mongolia Special. No tent, just lots of laughs and complaining from three old men. Just the way we like it.
We’d really appreciate it if you checked out our merch! It keeps the website going, and keeps us giving you updates!
What I’d like to know is, what did the camera people eat, and how did they survive presumably being terrorized to share rations?
