Jeremy Clarkson Is Opening A Restaurant And Wants Someone To Manage It: “Is There Anyone Out There Who Knows How To Run Such An Establishment?”
Jeremy Clarkson has officially revealed that he is opening a restaurant on his land at Diddly Squat Farm where the lambing shed currently stands. But this new project for the Clarkson’s Farm presenter has gone down like a tonne of bricks with his neighbours from Chadlington and the surrounding villages.
A couple of weeks ago, Jeremy met with many from Chadlington to set out the future of the farm. He described the evening, saying: “It was a (mostly) polite battle between the red-tractor movement and the red trousers and I think I did quite well.”
The Grand Tour presenter continued, referring to himself as former UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali: “Certainly they didn’t make a wicker man of me afterwards. Maybe that’s why some people call me Boutros Boutros-Clarkson.”
Now he’s won over the public, his “next battle is with the planners”, he explains in his latest column before putting a line out for someone to run the restaurant.
“I have all the ingredients I need for my new restaurant but no clue how they might be turned into stuff that people might want to put in their mouths.
“So is there anyone old out there who knows how to run such an establishment?”
The ex-Top Gear presenter states that he knows of driven, young people, giving an example of “the 14-year-old kid in my local village who makes eco dog biscuits on his mum’s kitchen table” but admits that he doesn’t see older people “charging round the place”.
“Which means there’s a vast and experienced pool of talent going to waste,” he explains.
“Old people are very happy to sit about in their inconti-trousers, doing nothing all day, and then moaning about how young people are all too spoilt and entitled to get off their backsides,” he writes.
