Jeremy Clarkson’s Grand Tour Has Left The Eboladrome Test Track For Good
DriveTribe’s Mike Fernie has revisited the legendary test track of The Grand Tour, aptly named the Eboladrome thanks to its shape. This comes days after the social media site, launched by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, shut down for good leaving only its supporting social sites such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
In a video where Mike explains that DriveTribe is looking for a new base to conduct its videos and content from, he admits that the Royal Air Force airfield in Wroughton is an extremely expensive way to go about this. Unless you supply your own marshalls, medics, and ambulances, the speed limit around the track is a disappointing 50mph. This doesn’t stop Mike from having a good time, however, as he drives his MG wagon around the famous landmarks like Old Lady’s House and The Isn’t Straight.
Mike admits that when The Grand Tour packed up its usual episodic structure and replaced it with special episodes only, the team left the Eboladrome for good. Now, it’s being used for autonomous and low carbon vehicle testing.
While there’s no denying that this test track would make the perfect base of operations for DriveTribe, the added expense of staffing it themselves is simply too high and makes things too complicated. So, for this reason, they’ve asked fans to give them other ideas of where they could hang up their car keys.
