James May’s new cooking show, Oh Cook! is almost here, and with the release date of November 13 only round the corner, Amazon has released a teaser video to wet or appetite so to speak.

May, adamant that this show will follow him as he learns the ways of cooking while we watch, is set a task for this long teaser. He’s been asked to review a number of kitchen gadgets, including a pasta maker and a breakfast cooker. “All the gear, no idea,” the video begins.

May begins by explaining how each gadget must satisfy three specific requirements. Is it idiot-proof? Does it make cooking easier? And would James have it in his kitchen?

With the help of socially-distanced-Joy, May’s helpful assistant, he’s able to review a host of gadgets, with some gaining praise, and others not so much. One gadget, a syringe that enables you to inject fluids into meats, was so good that May tells the camera he’s going to steal it for home use.

This is a hilarous video, and really makes us excited for what’s to come.
