Tesla Model Y To Be Unveiled This Month
Tesla CEO and avid Twitter user Elon Musk has revealed plans to unveil the fifth Tesla model later this month. He says the Tesla Model Y will be revealed at the LA Design Studio on the 14 March.
While it’s not going to be the pickup truck that Tesla fans have been speculating, it is going to be a larger version of the Model 3 in the form of an SUV. It’s going to be 10% larger than the Model 3, and 10% more expensive, so a $40,000 price tag is expected. This larger weight, Musk adds, will lower the battery range of the car due to the higher weight, so don’t expect the range of the Model 3 on the same battery.
It will be produced in the Gigafactory at Nevada, and eventually, plans to push production to Shanghai, China will begin.
We also expect the all-electric pickup truck to be revealed later this year, but information regarding that model is still hazy to say the least.
