There Are Still Four Brand New Lexus LFA Supercars For Sale

With manufacturers releasing their figures from 2019, it’s come to our attention that Lexus is still, surprisingly, trying to sell new LFAs. Seeing a spike in interest of 50% over the previous year, last year they managed to sell… three. What’s really strange is that the LFA supercar stopped production in 2012. What’s even more crazy, is there are still four new examples ready to be bought. Do you think they’ll have a clearance sale?

In 2017, Lexus weren’t hiding the fact that they still had 12 new examples waiting in showrooms for sale across the United States. Three of these were sold that year, another two the year later, and with the latest figures, that confirms that there are still four left at the beginning of the new decade.

The model hit the market in 2010, with 500 units being built in the following two years. 50 of these had the Nurburgring Package which boasted a boost in power of 10hp, a few improvements to the gearbox and some carbon fibre bits and pieces. But the base model was far from low-spec. Under the bonnet sat a 4.8-litre V10 which would produce 553bhp and, according to Jeremy Clarkson, the best sound a car ever made. Under the paint sat a carbon fibre monocoque.

Lexus has reportedly been considering a new supercar to succeed the LFA, but work on this has been slow, and considering the fact that the Japanese company is yet to sell all of the originals, it’s hard to think of an economical reason as to why they’d try again.
