This Evil Restomod Ford F100 Pickup Has A Shelby GT350 Heart
Trucks are perfect targets for both the newbie and experienced resto-modder, but this Ford F100 has to be one of the greatest examples we’ve seen. It boasts a serious powertrain, some gorgeous detailing, and will be up for auction at Barrett-Jackson soon.
Let’s sidestep the flat black paintwork for now and focus on what’s under the bonnet: a Voodoo V8 from a Ford Mustang GT350, able to rev to a spine tingling 8,000rpm while producing 526hp. This unit breathes easier though with a custom Kooks exhaust system, and is mated to a six-speed manual ‘box, also from a GT350. But to impregnate the F100 with such a thing, a custom box chassis had to be built. This, along with every other piece of metal on the truck, was painted satin black, Keystone KEY9801.
Each corner features Cobra independent suspension, and a Mishimoto polished radiator, LED headlights, and a smoothed and de-chromed front bumper makes the front look exceptionally evil. It also sits wider, with the rear fenders being extended by 3-inches to house wider tyres.
Matching the exterior, inside the behemoth is coated with rolls of suede, leather and Dynamat sound dampening, and Dakota Digital gauges sit behind the wheel for a true race car readout. The dashboard is custom made to fit a modern sound system, too, and it even features a rear reversing camera.
It will be going under the hammer later this month, so take a look here if you’re interested.
