F1 News: Lewis Hamilton Is Not Changing His Surname After Recent Clarification
It’s been confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will not be changing his surname despite the news being released that he will be honouring his mother Carmen Larbalestier by adding her maiden name to his own. Earlier, we reported that Lewis Hamilton is looking to change his name to Lewis Hamilton-Larbalestier. In fact, it’s now been confirmed that his mother’s name will be used as a middle name instead.
For those who have misinterpreted this, to be clear, Hamilton is incorporating his mother's surname as a middle name and will not be using it as a surname, nor changing his name to a double-barrelled surname

Andrew Benson, BBC Sport’s chief F1 writer, has reiterated that the name change will not involve Hamilton’s surname, but will instead only be added as a middle name.
“For those who have misinterpreted this, to be clear, Hamilton is incorporating his mother’s surname as a middle name and will not be using it as a surname, nor changing his name to a double-barrelled surname,” he posted to Twitter.
Who Is Lewis Hamilton’s Mum? What You Need To Know About Carmen Larbalestier
Earlier today, Lewis Hamilton revealed the news to the press at the Expo world fair in Dubai. He said the following:
“My mum’s name is Larbalestier and I’m just about to put that in my name.
“Because I don’t really fully understand the whole idea when people get married then the woman loses her name.
