Freddie Flintoff Leaving Top Gear? Psychological Impact from “Serious” Crash

It has been reported that Top Gear host Freddie Flintoff is considering leaving his presenting role following a severe crash that occurred while filming, resulting in him being airlifted to the hospital. According to sources, while Flintoff has avoided severe physical injuries, he is struggling with the recovery process, both physically and mentally.

The former cricketer has been on leave from the show since the incident, which occurred at the Top Gear grounds, the Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, on December 13th.

The source informed The Times, “He was making a good recovery physically following the crash, but the psychological impact was less clear.”

Flintoff’s 16-year-old son, Corey, spoke to the Daily Mail, saying, “It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he’s going to be OK.”

TV presenter Piers Morgan also commented on the accident, stating, “I’m told it was a pretty serious crash and that Freddie’s going to be OK, but it might be a little bit more serious than first appreciated.”

Paddy McGuinness took to Instagram to express the outpouring of support for Flintoff, writing, “Had so many well wishes and positivity for the big lad.” As the recovery process continues, it remains uncertain if Flintoff will return to the show.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
