Jeremy Clarkson Takes Back His Insult Towards Emma Raducanu: “Another Snowflake Teenager”

Jeremy Clarkson has given his thoughts on US Open Champion Emma Raducanu after calling her “another snowflake teenager” after she exited Wimbledon. It turns out that after her recent performance, he has revealed that he was wrong.

Emma made headlines when she quit Wimbledon after she was experiencing dizziness and breathing difficulties. She said at the time:

“I was playing the best tennis of my life in front of an amazing crowd this week, and I think the whole experience has caught up with me.”

After this, commentator John McEnroe shared that he didn’t think the 18-year-old could deal with the related pressure from the sport. The Grand Tour presenter agreed, calling her “another snowflake teenager”. In a recent column, Jeremy takes back what he said about Emily in a recent column for The Sun:

“When Emma Raducanu abandoned the match she was losing at Wimbledon this year, I sided with John McEnroe and told anyone who’d listen that she was obviously just another snowflake teenager who was so used to getting her way she couldn’t cope when things started to go wrong.

“Ha. Not since Neville Chamberlain waved his piece of paper around has anyone been so wrong. Because after Emma’s remarkable US Open triumph in New York there can be no doubt that she’s got a spine made from titanium and nerves of steel,” Jeremy penned.

Clarkson’s rival Piers Morgan also weighed in on Emma, saying the following:

“Ms Raducuna’s a talented player but couldn’t handle the pressure & quit when she was losing badly.

“Not ‘brave’, just a shame. If I were her, I’d tell my fans to stop abusing McEnroe, & seek his advice on how to toughen up & become a champion like he was,” he finished. Although later on, he changed his view:

“She took my advice and won,” he wrote online.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
