Richard Hammond Puts Porsche 924 Up For Auction
If you have ever wanted to own a piece of television history, then get your butt down to the Coys Autosport auction taking place at Autosport International on January 14th, and get your mitts on Richard Hammond’s very own Porsche 924 that was featured in an episode of Top Gear.
In Series 5, Episode 6 of Top Gear, the boys were presented with a cheap Porsche challenge. Richard showed up in a Porsche 924 that he purchased for £750 and was simply stoked that the lights pop up. You can now own this car as it is going up for auction with no reserve.
I love collecting old beaters and working on them, and I’m not going to lie, the idea of buying Hammond’s car for dirt cheap seems extremely appealing. However, I don’t think this will go cheaply as I’m certain it will be advertised as “Hammond’s Porsche Featured On Top Gear!” Who knows, this may go for quite a premium.
If you recall, Hammond later added a blacked out hood, racing numbers, and flames to the car, much to the bemusement of the other hosts. At the end of the episode, it turned out that Hammond was unable to sell the car. Well, now it can be yours! Just bid on Lot 118!
